Projects aimed to help people get tested early and reduce the opportunity for the virus to spread. Senator Colin Deacon and his colleagues want to see a tracing app developed to fight the pandemic and allow the Canadian economy to grow again

In a study commissioned by Senators Donna Dasko, Rosemary Moodie and Colin Deacon, 80% of Canadians would use a mobile device tracking app to notify them and others of exposure to COVID-19, and help all Canadians in the fight against COVID-19. A further 65% of respondents think the app should be mandatory, equaling those who'd take the vaccine once available. Privacy issues are a key concern amongst respondents as well, but it is clear that there is an increasing sense of urgency to both protect public health and get the economy moving again.
